Biltmore Estate

As America’s Largest Home, Biltmore House has captured the imagination of millions with its sheer size – the square footage of four football fields – the 35 bedrooms, the 43 bathrooms, and a full-sized swimming pool in the basement. Outside, explore acres of beautiful gardens and grounds. George Vanderbilt’s dream lives on as one of western North Carolina’s rarest treasures.

What you need to know
  • Book all admissions through Xplorie for $5 discount per ticket.
  • Hours of Operation:  9:30 AM – 4:00 PM Sunday – Thursday. 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM Friday and Saturday.
  • The last tour entrance is 1 hour before closing.
  • Arrive at Biltmore House at least 15 minutes prior to your reserved house entry time.
  • Allow for the 45 minutes of drive time between the Admissions Gate, or any other estate location, and Biltmore House.
  • Please note, arriving at the Biltmore house more than 30 minutes past your assigned time and your ticket cannot be honored.
  • Dress comfortably and expect 2 hours to tour the Biltmore House.
  • The first two floors of the Biltmore house are fully wheelchair accessible.
  • There are four specialty gift shops with items such as toys, books, & Christmas items.
  • There are four dining options nearby such as the Courtyard Market, the Sable Cafe, The Bake Shop, and the Ice cream Parlor.

Bags and Backpacks:

  • Storage Lockers are available complimentary for guests.
  • Guests may bring a personal bag no larger than 19″ x 14″ x 9″ into Biltmore House.
  • If your bag does not meet these requirements, please leave it in your vehicle or ask about storage options. Exceptions will be made for medical items after inspection.
  • Backpacks are not allowed on any guided tours, including Rooftop, Backstairs, Exclusive, and Expert-Guided tours.
  • Guests are required to leave backpacks in a locker or in their vehicle.
  • Biltmore reserves the right to refuse admission for any bag, parcel, or other items.
  • Weapons are prohibited.
  • Law enforcement officers are not exempt unless coordinated and approved in advance by Biltmore’s Director of Security & Police Operations.

One Free Adult French Broad River 5 Mile Whitewater Admission Every Day of Your Stay.

Available March – October.

French Broad Adventures: Rafting

Experience the exciting adventure of whitewater rapids and enjoy the natural beauty of the Pisgah National Forest! French Broad Adventures’ five-mile rafting trip explores Class II and III rapids on a beautiful stretch of the river. The trip lasts 3-4 hours depending on the river level.

What you need to know
  • Trip typically takes 3 – 4 hours to complete, rain or shine.
  • Hours of Operation: 9AM – 5PM.
  • Guest must complete a liability release form.
  • Lunch trips available.
  • Guests must arrive 30 minutes prior to scheduled time.
  • Minimum 8 years old. All participants must sign a waiver. Parents must sign waivers for minor consent.
  • Masks are required indoors and during transportation.
  • Private boat available, must pay for 6 guest spots.
  • Recommended Attire:
    • Summer: Swim suit with shorts and a t-shirt or tank top.
    • Spring and Fall: layers, layers, layers!
    • Complimentary wet suits (swimsuits underneath required) and splash gears provided.
    • Sunscreen, hats, straps for glasses, towel and a change of dry clothing.

One Free Adult 1 Hour Axe Throwing Admission Every Day of Your Stay.

Timber Axe Throwing

Looking for something fun to do? Axe throwing at Timber Axe is fun for everyone! Axe throwing is an adrenaline rush and a combination of darts and bowling. You are going to have an AXEllent time at Timber Axe! No experience is required, knowledgeable coaches will teach you everything you need to know and the safety procedures before you get started.

What you need to know
  • Located 1 Hour from Asheville.
  • Minimum 2 guests to reserve a lane, maximum of 5 guests per lane.
  • Open Thursday through Sunday, hours vary.
    • Thursday: 5pm – 10pm
    • Friday: 5pm – 11pm
    • Saturday: 1pm – 11pm
    • Sunday: 1pm – 8pm
  • Highly recommend close-toed shoes and no high heels (safety first!). Other than that, just dress comfy! Plaid is highly encouraged!
  • Please bring a valid ID and a sense of adventure!
    • Ages 13 to 17 can throw with an accompanying parent or guardian and anyone 18 and older can throw with a valid ID. No one 12 and under is allowed in the venue – no exceptions.
    • Liability waiver is required for all participants.
  • Guests will be required to check-in at the venue 10-15 minutes prior to their reservation time. If at least one guest doesn’t check in within 5 minutes of the reserved lane start time, the reservation will be cancelled, without refund, and may be offered to walk-in guests waiting. *PLEASE NOTE: This activity is a ONE HOUR commute from Asheville
  • We have snack foods available to purchase. If you want something more, local pizzerias deliver to our venue and we have menus on site.

French Broad Adventures: All Day Rock Wall

Climb with confidence with French Broad Adventures! This thirty-foot climbing wall has two Perfect Descent automatic belay devices so that you can climb confidently to new heights! It also features multiple climbing routes and features for a variety of ages and skill levels. The indoor climbing wall is a perfect addition to your adventure-filled day!

Launch Trampoline Park is a 25,000 sq. ft. indoor sports and family entertainment facility in Arden, North Carolina. With over 12,000 sq. feet of connected trampolines forming one GIANT jumping surface and angled trampoline walls to bounce off of, Launch will get your whole family off the couch and in the air in no time!

What you need to know
  • 10 lines; trips take approximately 2 ½ to 3 hours to complete(rain or shine).
  • Guest must arrive 30 minutes prior to scheduled time.
  • Requirements:
    • Closed toe shoes.
    • Minimum age of 10 years old.
    • Minors must be accompanied by parent or guardian.
    • Sign a waiver (parents consent for minors).
    • Weigh between 70 and 250 pounds, and agree to be discreetly weighed upon check-in.
