St. George Lighthouse Museum

The Museum works to educate the community and visitors about the role the Light Station played in facilitating commerce and nautical travel along the Northwest Florida Gulf Coast. The Museum also preserves and maintains artifacts used during the Cape St. George Light’s time in service. During the climb, there are 92 spiral stairs to the watch room and a narrow metal ladder to the lantern room.

  • Open March 1 to October 31:
    • Mon, Tues, Wed, Fri, Sat: 10 AM to 5 PM
    • Sun: Noon until 5 PM
    • Thursdays are closed.
  • Open Nov. 1 to Feb 28:
    • Mon, Tues, Wed, Fri, Sat, and Sun: Noon to 5 PM
    • Thursdays are closed.
  • Children under the age of 13 can climb if accompanied by an adult and meet the height requirement. Children 13 and older can climb without an adult.
  • Please Note: Xplorie voucher not valid for full moon climbs or other special events.
  • Guests  (including children) must be at least 40 inches tall to climb the lighthouse.
  • The access to the lantern room is through a 24 inch by 21 inch scuttle hole (small hatch), up a 8 rung ladder.
  • Footwear suitable for climbing the 92 wooden spiral stairs is recommended.
  • Cameras are allowed on the climb. Please leave all bags and purses in your car.
  • There is parking onsite.
  • Smoking is not allowed.
  • Pets are NOT allowed inside the Lighthouse, Museum, or Gift Shop. There is a watering hole for pets.
  • Use your emailed Xplorie Vouchers at the gift shop for admission.

St. Joseph’s Bay Country Club is a pristine 18-hole championship golf course located along beautiful St. Joseph’s Bay off County Road C-30. Mature trees, lush fairways, sloping greens, and strategically placed hazards highlight this traditional layout, perfect for the intermediate player. Water comes into play on fourteen holes, so be prepared to see lots of wildlife, including alligators!

Gulf Specimen Marine Lab

At Gulf Specimen Marine Laboratory you will get a better sense of what’s really out there. Utilizing water bubbles and swirling flows they sustain unique collections of the bizarre and the beautiful. See creatures such as seahorses, emerald-eyed spiny boxfish, electric rays and red and white spotted calico crabs, just to name a few of the endless living treasures of north Florida’s coast.
