Gulf Coast Surf School

Gulf Coast Surf School was founded by a group of passionate surfers who enjoy sharing the love of teaching and surfing with others. A typical surf lesson will include 1-2 hours of instruction and a board rental. The water safety and etiquette land portion of the lesson will educate you on surfing before you get in the water.

  • Three Locations:

  • Gulf Coast Surf School offers classes at 9 AM, 11 AM, & 1 PM (3 PM on an as-needed basis).
  • Things to bring: Sunscreen, Water, Towel, Proper Swim Attire, & Rash Guard.
  • What to expect:
    • A typical lesson will include 1-2 hrs of instruction & board rental.
    • Current conditions / Marine life report.
    • Water safety & Etiquette.
    • Land class including instruction of proper prone position, paddling technique, the “pop up”, and proper stance.
    • “Paddling out.” (duck diving, log roll, nose dives, etc).
    • Assistance with line-up placement & catching waves.
    • Surf photography package available.
    • Experienced, CPR certified surf instructors.
  • You will be contacted by Gulf Coast Surf School to finalize the details of your lesson.

  • Duration: 45 mins
  • Pricing is per kayak/paddleboard, not per person. Each kayak holds 1 or 2 people.
  • We have a minimum weight of 30 pounds and an adult must be in the same vessel with kids under 10. Children between 10-17 can rent a kayak solo with parental permission.
  • Kayaks hold up to 450 lbs.  We ask that the heavier of the two sit in the back of the kayak.
  • We ask that no shoes be worn in our clear kayaks to reduce scratching.
  • Limited parking at the premises, please either walk, take the beach trolley or Uber over. If our lot is full, there is public parking across the street.
  • One Portable toilet on-site.
  • Expect to get a little wet, it depends on you (or possibly your friends)
  • Life vests are available for children and anyone who requests. Life jackets are always on board, even if you choose not to wear one.

The Club at Hidden Creek in Navarre, Florida is well known for its excellent conditions, lush landscape, rolling terrain and scenic layout. Hidden Creek is an 18-Hole Championship Public Golf Course designed by Ron Garl and plays 6,823 yards from the back tees. They offer exciting and challenging play for all levels of golfers with water throughout the course and well guarded greens.
